Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs accounting services with primary support in Disbursements (Accounts Payable, Payroll).
- Prepares journal entries and reconciles account balances with appropriate records.
- Conducts special investigations and compiles accounting data for specific activities.
- Provide updates and documentation for processes and procedures.
- Coordinates or performs the accumulation, analysis and distribution of accounting data.
- Coordinates accounting methods and recommends/implements improvement in departmental procedures.
- Performs liaison activities with accounting management, internal and external customers.
- Investigates problems and implements corrective action.
- Reviews and analyzes accounting data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations and DOE/NNSA orders.
- Assists in training personnel in various accounting routines and procedures.
- Analyzes financial system output and initiates corrections as required.
- Performs, reviews, and analyzes a variety of financial-related calculations.
You Must Have
- High School diploma
- 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- United States Citizenship
- Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)
We Value
- Associate’s degree in accounting
- Knowledge of general accounting or payroll methods and practices normally acquired through a degree in accounting or equivalent formal education and experience.
- Proficiency in in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to quickly analyze complex financial information and initiate/recommend appropriate actions.
