Job Description
Our financial services client is seeking a Freelance AI & Business Process Consultant to join their team on a high impact, hands-on engagement. This role is focused on rapidly identifying opportunities to improve day-to-day workflows through practical, real-world applications of generative AI. This position is 37.5 hours per week for the next 3 months with potential to extend based on performance, and will be hybrid onsite in Overland Park Kansas, 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
Approved tools include ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Amazon Quick Suite.
The AI / Business Process Consultant will:
Embed with business teams to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities
Listen first, partnering closely with stakeholders to uncover where AI can add value
Identify and implement AI-driven solutions that improve efficiency and productivity
Collaborate hands-on with team members to pressure test ideas and iterate quickly
Develop or configure AI workflows, prompts, or tools independently when needed
Move fast and adapt as priorities evolve
Clearly communicate concepts and solutions to both technical and nontechnical audiences
Document solutions in a clear, practical way to support adoption and continued use
The AI / Business Process Consultant has:
Strong understanding of generative AI and how it applies to business problems
Hands-on experience using ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI tools in a professional setting
Excellent listening and communication skills
Ability to quickly understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Comfort working in fast paced, ambiguous environments
Collaborative mindset with a bias toward action
Ability to deliver value from day one
Nice to Have:
Experience with Amazon Quick Suite (QuickSight, etc.)
Background in business analysis, operations, or process improvement
Experience in financial services or insurance
Knowledge of prompt engineering and AI workflow design
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
