Job Summary: Cowley College is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Alumni & Fundraising Coordinator to strengthen alumni engagement and support the college’s fundraising initiatives. This role is responsible for cultivating meaningful connections with alumni, coordinating events, and supporting fundraising campaigns that advance the mission of Cowley College.
Position Duties:
Alumni Relations
- Develop and implement strategies to engage alumni through events, communications, and volunteer opportunities.
- Maintain and update the alumni database to ensure accurate contact and engagement records.
- Coordinate alumni events such as reunions, networking mixers, and recognition ceremonies.
- Produce alumni newsletters, social media content, and outreach materials.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries and support.
- Assist the Workforce and Community Engagement office as needed.
Fundraising Coordination
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns that support college clubs, organizations and special projects.
- Support donor stewardship efforts by managing acknowledgments, recognition, and reporting.
- Help organize fundraising events such as galas, auctions, and community drives.
- Track and report on fundraising metrics and alumni engagement.
Required Education Background and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in alumni relations, fundraising, or event coordination (higher education preferred).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Passion for education and community engagement.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with donor management software.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with social media and digital marketing tools.
Supervisory Requirements: None.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to move freely around the campus and outreach centers; ability to lift up to 20 pounds; ability to bend, stoop, reach and grasp as required to perform responsibilities; ability to drive motor vehicle; and ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
Work Environment: Occasional evening and weekend work required for events. Some travel may be necessary for alumni outreach and donor meetings.
