Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems at assigned facilities. Manages used oil, universal waste, and hazardous waste satellite and storage containers.
TRAINING: Hazardous waste training shall be provided to employee within six months of the date the employee filled this position. A review of hazardous waste training shall be provided every 12 months thereafter. Employee shall be supervised until training has been completed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect machinery and equipment for proper operation
- Detect equipment and machinery malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
- Install and repair high voltage 480/208 3 phase electrical apparatus, 120/277/208/240/480 electrical systems such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic (low voltage) components of machinery and equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as filter and fluid changes, fluid refills, lubricating, greasing, hose and wiring inspections, chip removal from the machine and conveyors, residue and contaminant removal, and necessary repairs
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
- Perform facilities maintenance and repairs such as carpentry, painting, lighting, electrical, and plumbing
- Comply with all company safety rules and regulations
- Work with EH&S Manager to file environmental paperwork to maintain compliance.
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all contacts
