Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Setup, Test & Inspection Technician is responsible for executing and supporting post-production setup, functional testing, inspection, and validation of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) prior to delivery. This role serves as a technical and in-process liaison between Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure each unit meets engineering specifications, ISO 9001 requirements, customer expectations, and defined acceptance criteria.
This is a hands-on role focused on equipment validation, troubleshooting, inspection phases, documentation, and continuous process/product improvement. In addition to testing and inspection responsibilities, this position is expected to assist with developing standardized setup and validation processes where gaps exist, ensuring repeatability and consistency across technicians of varying skill levels.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
Equipment Setup & Functional Testing (Primary Focus)
- Perform post-production setup and functional testing of GSE equipment including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Execute structured, repeatable test procedures verifying safety, performance, and compliance.
- Validate operation of critical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system failures using logical, process-driven methods (not trial-and error).
- Work from and interpret assembly drawings, hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics and engineering specifications
- Support customer or regulatory acceptance testing when required.
Inspection & Product Verification (Secondary Focus)
- Perform in-process and final inspections of equipment and assemblies.
- Verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Identify, document, and track nonconformances.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions at the product level.
- Ensure equipment is fully validated prior to shipment.
- Identify gaps or inconsistencies in setup, testing, and inspection workflows.
- Develop clear, logical, step-by-step procedures that can be followed by technicians regardless of skill level.
- Assist with creating and maintain standardized checklists, inspection forms, procedures.
- Refine procedures based on recurring issues and trends.
