Job Description
We operate a livestock operation of approximately 500 head and farm approximately 8,500 acres of cropland, in addition to running a seed and feed business. We need a seasonal general farmworker to assist with a variety of routine agricultural duties, including mowing, weeding, bale stacking, and other crop-related tasks. The worker will perform shop work such as minor repairs and routine maintenance on farm equipment and buildings, clean and maintain vehicles and equipment, run farm-related errands to fields and local suppliers to pick up parts and materials, and haul tools, fuel, and supplies to equipment and employees working in the fields. All duties are performed in connection with and incidental to the livestock and crop production operations. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
Family housing not available. Housing will be clean & meet applicable Fed, State &local housing standards. Workers must maintain neat & clean housing. Repair cost of damage, other than normal wear and tear will be deducted from the earnings with prior employee written consent. Housing/utilities are provided at no cost to workers who are unable to return to place of residence the same day. If both male & female workers are hired: separate toilet, bathing and sleeping rooms will be provided.
Employer is not a H-2ALC. Employees will be provided with an employer owned vehicle to drive to and from work and to town for errands at least once per week. Daily transportation schedule will coincide with the work schedule outlined on this application, or as agreed upon between employer and employee based on seasonal demands and/or workload.
