Job Description
Maize Middle School is seeking a Finance Secretary 7-8 for the 2026-27 school year. The Finance Secretary maintains and manages the financial needs of the school ensuring accuracy and compliance.
A Day in the Life:
- Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run office.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relations.
- Assist in developing contracts for athletic events.
- Monitor building credit and debit cards.
- Enter and reconcile purchase orders
- File sales tax with the state.
- Cut checks and balance accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain various accounts such as activities accounts, building and district funds, and petty cash to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Maintain and collect money for events and activities to ensure accurate record keeping and safety of collected funds.
- Order supplies for the building.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Collect and refund fees as needed for enrolling and transferring students.
- Coordinate a variety of activities and special events.
- Provide clerical support to administrators to ensure efficiency in their job functions.
- Assist with special events outside of the school day.
- Compile data for reports.
- Assist with supervision of student aides.
- Operate and maintain office equipment and machines, including but not limited to, door buzzer, computer, copy machine, intercom, district radio, and telephone.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality as appropriate in order to comply with district, state and federal laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the school and district.
