Job Description
Job Summary:
The Cost Accountant will manage cost accounting functions, analyze production costs, and support financial planning and reporting. Ensures accurate cost tracking, inventory valuation, and variance analysis while leveraging SAP for efficient financial operations.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and analyze product costing, standard costing, and cost estimates.
- Perform monthly cost closing activities in SAP (Material Ledger, COPA, etc.).
- Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and report findings.
- Monitor inventory valuation and reconcile inventory accounts.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
- Maintain cost accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing for cost accuracy.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to costing and inventory.
- Ensure SAP master data accuracy (material master, cost centers, profit centers).
