Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Ottawa County Health Center
Job Summary:
The LPN provides individualized nursing care and supports patient recovery through routine clinical tasks and collaboration with the care team. This role ensures quality and safety in all aspects of patient care, while maintaining accurate documentation and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in assessing patient needs and updating care plans
- Carry out physician orders and support outpatient procedures
- Document patient care accurately in the EMR
- Participate in shift reports and discharge planning
- Supervise and delegate tasks to support staff appropriately
- Maintain IV trays, crash carts, medication areas, and equipment
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and medication management policies
IV Therapy (If Certified):
Under RN supervision, may initiate and maintain peripheral IVs, administer select IV medications, and perform related tasks per state scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a practical nursing program
- Current Kansas LPN license
- BLS certification required
- IV certification strongly preferred
- Basic computer proficiency
