Job Description
A Day in the Life:
• Work with teachers and administrators to keep accurate records of attendance and discipline to ensure everyone is correctly informed.
• Assist the Principal to formulate local, state, and federal reports as required by law.
• Maintain student files to ensure accuracy.
• Draft forms to be filed with the District Attorney to meet compliance standards.
• Work with administrators on paperwork for long-term suspension/expulsion hearings so hearings can run smoothly.
• Input and record computer discipline referrals for accurate record keeping.
• Assign student Tardy Detention notices for three or more tardies to keep students informed.
• May cross train to assist the Attendance Secretary or provide front desk coverage.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality as appropriate in order to comply with district, state and federal laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the office and building
- Has basic computer and office skills
- People skills are important, as well as a positive attitude and good oral/written communication
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well with others
- Has a high school diploma
- Office experience is recommended
- Must have a cleared background check and current TB skin test
- Generally the job requires 90% sitting and 10% standing/walking
- Fine finger dexterity is used
- School schedule – work when students are in session along with a couple of additional weeks
