Job Summary
The Purchasing Assistant supports the procurement team by processing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, tracking deliveries, and ensuring inventory levels are maintained efficiently and cost-effectively. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth supply chain operations and accurate purchasing records.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and processing purchase orders in accordance with company policies
- Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, confirm pricing, and track order status
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast purchasing needs
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, invoices, and supplier documentation
- Compare supplier pricing and negotiate terms under supervision
- Follow up on delayed shipments and resolve discrepancies with suppliers
- Support contract management and vendor performance evaluations
- Reconcile purchase orders with invoices and delivery receipts
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the procurement team
