Job Description
Duties may include: Operate various farm equipment to assist with harvesting of crops. Adjust speed of cutters, blowers, conveyors, and weight of cutting head, using hand tools. Change cutting head as appropriate for crop. Drive heavy truck to transport produce to elevator or storage area. Drive truck to haul harvesting machines between work sites. Make in-field repairs. Maintain machinery, i.e., Change fluids in equipment, rotate tires, clean grain bins, wash vehicles, check brakes, check tire pressure, general maintenance, etc. Grounds maintenance on farm and/or housing. weed eating, mowing. Maintain/clean shop area. Other miscellaneous duties assigned & other related Ag Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org). This job involves manual labor, lifting, carrying, bending, and long days in the heat and cold. Rain days are typically spent in the shop repairing equipment and preparing for the next days’ work. Must communicate in English, follow instructions, and be physically capable of performing all job duties. Crops: hay, grain.
Housing is provided. Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence is also offered. Transportation will be provided at no cost to workers, from employer-provided housing and, if applicable, centralized pick-up points to the places of employment at the beginning of each workday and back at the end of each work day.
