Summary:

The purpose of this position is to gain a basic knowledge of the HIM department in the areas of scanning and analysis. This role is not the primary individual accountable for the responsibilities listed below but will serve as a back up to each of the primary technicians assigned to these roles.

Responsibilities:

• Timely retrieval of all discharged patient records inclusive of inpatient acute care, inpatient rehab, swing bed, observation, outpatient surgery and emergency room visits.
• Efficiently scans the above medical records into the patient's electronic health record and properly assigns document mnemonics
• accurately analyzes each patient record to ensure all necessary documents are present and any missing electronic signatures are identified.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent. Previous medical office experience inclusive of document management beneficial.
