Job Description
Under the direction of the Street Supervisor, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance, construction, and repair of streets, roadways, alleys, ditches, dikes, and other public works facilities and/or projects.
- Operates light vehicles and trucks up to 2 ½ tons, light tractors, and other equipment incidental to the work.
- Installs signs.
- Assists the shop mechanic in the repair of equipment and vehicles.
- Paints as necessary.
- Performs building and facilities maintenance.
- Patches potholes, crack fills, and operates jackhammers as necessary.
- Plows snow, salts and sands streets.
- Drives paint machine and paints parking stalls, crosswalks, and school crossings.
- Mows with hand or power mowers.
- Forms and pours concrete.
- Responds to after-hours emergencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
