Phillips Southern Electric Co Inc is looking for a highly skilled Traveling Field Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service a fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles used across our civil construction projects. This role requires a hands-on technician with strong diagnostic and repair abilities, who is ready to travel statewide to keep our machines running safely and efficiently. • Perform maintenance and repair on a variety of heavy equipment including: excavators, skid steers, trenchers, boom trucks, digger derricks, bucket trucks, directional drills, dump trucks, semi-trailers, and more.

• Conduct routine automotive maintenance: oil changes, battery swaps, tire rotations, transmission service, HVAC recharges, etc.

• Diagnose equipment issues using modern diagnostic tools and recommend effective repair solutions.

• Ensure all machinery is operating safely and meets regulatory safety/emission standards.

• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and on time.

• Wear appropriate PPE on all job sites and while in the yard.

• Travel statewide to support active project sites with onsite mechanical repairs.

• Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety protocols at all times.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
