Job Title: CNC Machinist

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the department manager, machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 3 and 4 axis machines and other equipment to produce quality products on time. Promotes and utilizes standard safety practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

· Will run 3 and 4 axis machines

· Will blend and deburr own parts as needed

· Does own setups and may assist others with set-ups

· Checks first part to ensure quality before getting a QA first part buy

· Maintains clear and concise communication with all supervision verbally and handwritten tie in notes at the machines

· Maintain daily part run averages located inside each set-up book

· Maintain a clean work station including cleaning the inside and outside of machines at end of shift

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· None

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of 1-year experience in CNC 3 and 4 axis machines.

· Ability to communicate machine problems, quality issues and other concerns or questions to departmental management.

· Basic math skills.

· Must be quality conscious.

· Ability to use and interpret precision measurement equipment

· Ability to interpret aircraft blueprints

· Knowledge of CNC tooling, example: end mills, drill bits, reamers, etc.

· Moderate time management skills

· Moderate problem-solving skills

· Maintain a professional work atmosphere by being courteous, respectful and non-interfering with customers, co-workers, and management.
