Job Description
Our client, a leader in CPG pet nutrition, is looking for a contract Director of BI Analytics to join their team near Kansas City, KS immediately for at least the next 6+ months, 40 hours per week. Ideally you are located in or near Kansas City and can be onsite for meetings as needed. If not, you must be willing to travel to the office 1-2x per month.
In this role, the Director of BI Analytics will be handing the BI component of media and marketing analytics. You'll be responsible for taking care of market share reporting, advanced analytics, forecasting and general BI oversight. This role is high profile, with the opportunity to interface with senior marketing leadership, dealing with complex business issues, etc. The Director will lead a team of two staff (Business Intelligence and Revenue Growth Management) to analyze data, find the patterns, and make recommendations for optimizing operational performance.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
-Support a data-driven mindset throughout the organization as a key component of decision-making
-Design and improve data-driven key performance indicators (KPI) that add value to the business
-Develop models that offer insights on acquisition, churn, and forecasting
-Maintain an objective point of view to ensure accurate, unbiased analysis
-Extract the essential meaning and most important aspects of the analysis clearly and concisely
-Translate the data into a cohesive, compelling story / business case that steps back from the numbers and highlights issues and opportunities
-Develop and enhance methods of monitoring data integrity to ensure accuracy and consistency
Requirements include:
-10+ years experience analyzing business data and translating insights into actionable decisions
-Experience across various CPG categories offering a broad perspective to business challenges
-Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to present complex information clearly across all levels of the organization; up and down to executives, managers, and front lines
-Solving problems through data analysis, creative and critical thinking, and business judgment
-Examples of leading in a team-oriented, collaborative manner
-A leadership style that engages, develops and empowers others to do what is in the best interest of the company and customer
-A proactive, self-managing approach to planning, organizing and executing action plans
-Familiarity with APIs, Data Feeds & data transfer between platforms & data warehouses
-A working knowledge of advanced analytics modelling from the perspective of delivering insights to a commercial team and the ability to adapt to new technology
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
