Job Description
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of the Payroll Clerk is to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll. This role involves maintaining payroll records, verifying timekeeping data, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Clerk works closely with HR and Accounting to support smooth payroll operations.
Essential Job Functions:
· Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees with accuracy and confidentiality.
· Verify and enter employee time and attendance data into payroll system.
· Review and reconcile payroll reports to identify errors or discrepancies.
· Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, wage adjustments, and deductions.
· Administer and process withholding and support orders, such as child support, garnishments, and other mandated deductions.
· Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
· Calculate and prepare tax withholdings, garnishments, and other deductions.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
· Assist with payroll audits and generate required reports for management.
· Collaborate with HR on employee benefit deductions and updates.
· Support Accounting with month-end and year-end payroll reporting (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications:
· Proven experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
· Knowledge of payroll software (ADP, Paycom, or equivalent) and timekeeping systems.
· Familiarity with federal and state labor laws.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Problem-solving and analytical skills
· Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have the ability to obtain and retain a Level II KRGC Gaming License.
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field preferred.
· Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry and organizational skills.
· Clear written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Crosstrain in other departments
· Other duties as assigned

· Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team
· Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
