Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain offender (client) and program confidentiality as required by federal law.
2. Supervise those offenders (clients) assigned to assist you with meal preparation tasks.
3. Under the supervision of the Food Service Coordinator and the designated site Facility Coordinators ensure the safety of the residents (clients) and staff by keeping your designated site's kitchen free from potential hazards. Become aware of and work to meet all fire and health safety codes.
4. Maintain documentation of inspections by E-Kan on the Fire Suppression System (if applicable). State law requires the suppression systems be inspected by an authorized inspector(i.e., E-Kan) and tha tthe old links be retained on site for Fire Inspectors to see on their annual visits. Monitor the inspections on the Fire extinguishers in the kitchen and dining buildings (annual check by E-Kan) and conduct a monthly sight check and documentation thereof of each fire extinguisher in the kitchen and dining buildings. Documentation of this should be kept o the tag provided on each fire extinguisher.
5. Institutional style meal preparation for all residents at your designated site or sites.
6. Menu planning and grocery list preparation on a weekly basis. This is inclusive of the incorporation and use of bulk commodities, on-hand food items and the purchase of other groceries from local food stores.
7. Grocery shopping locally.
8. Inventory control of food on a weekly basis.
9. Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and dining facilities at your designated site or sites.
10. Ensure compliance with any dietary needs for residents as determined by medical personnel.
11. Consultation with other program staff.
12. Perform other duties as directed by the Food Service Coordinator or designated site Facility Coordinator.
