Job Description
TITLE OF POSITION: Transportation DOT Driver
SUPERVISOR: Transportation Coordinator
WORK SCHEDULE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
21 years of age or older.
Possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, possess the ability to react effectively in a wide
variety of human service situations
Work independently and as a productive member of a team.
Dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and compliance with agency’s liability carrier’s
requirements, including the ability to drive all vehicle types owned and operated by the agency
Communicate positively and effectively with others
Basic proficiency in math
Effective utilization of basic office technology
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The driver must assist the elderly, disabled, and all customers on
and off the vehicles and with transportation to and from assigned destinations. The driver will use
sound judgment and have the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service
situations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Provide transportation as assigned.
2. Assist all riders with entering and exiting the vehicles.
3. Must be able to secure wheel chair restraints.
4. Tasks may include pushing, pulling, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
5. Maintains a positive, professional and supportive relationship with external customers and
internal customers.
6. All documentation completed and turned in as directed.
7. Attend orientation and all program specific continuing in-service trainings including RTAP
training bi-annually for certification.
8. Adheres to organizational and department specific safety standards and guidelines.
9. Exhibit and promote decisions / behavior consistent with the Center’s established Vision,
Mission, and Values and will demonstrate a commitment to service, organization values, and
professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Any deviations to the work schedule and all overtime must be approved in advance.
