Job Title: AssemblerLocation: Welding / Fabrication Shop

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Shop Manager
The Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated metal components into finished or semi-finished products in accordance with drawings, work instructions, and shop standards. This role works closely with welders, sub-assemblers, and supervisors to ensure quality, accuracy, and efficient production flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
Assemble metal parts and components according to blueprints, drawings, or work orders.

Fit, align, and secure parts using hand tools, power tools, clamps, and fixtures.

Verify parts meet specifications before and after assembly

Work with welders to prepare assemblies for welding

Perform basic measurements using tape measures, squares, and calipers

Identify and report defects, missing parts, or quality concerns

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Follow all safety procedures and shop policies

Previous assembly or manufacturing experience preferred

Ability to read basic blueprints or assembly drawings

Basic mechanical skills and hand tool experience

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to stand for extended periods

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks

The Sub-Assembler supports the assembly process by preparing and assembling individual components or sub-assemblies for use in final fabrication or welding operations. This is typically an entry-level or intermediate role focused on accuracy, consistency, and production support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities-
Assemble smaller components or sub-assemblies per instructions

Sort, stage, and organize parts for final assembly or welding

Perform basic fitting, bolting, or fastening of components

Assist with material handling and parts preparation

Conduct visual inspections for defects or damage

Maintain the cleanliness and organization of workstations
-
Follow safety procedures and quality standards

Manufacturing or shop experience preferred but not required

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Basic hand tool knowledge

Willingness to learn fabrication and welding processes

Dependable with strong attendance

Ability to lift up to 30–40 lbs

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks

Comfortable working in a shop environment
