Job Title: Machine OperatorJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Weekend AM Plastics Operator to join our plastic extrusion team. This position requires heavy labor in a non-climate controlled environment and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The work schedule includes Friday and Monday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 7:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Prep machines for shift start-up and product changes.
- Operate auxiliary equipment to produce various manufactured products, ensuring quality and production goals are met.
- Troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- Monitor and operate processing equipment for production with minimal supervision.
- Assist higher-level operators and train lower-level operators.
- Use measuring equipment to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Operate material handling and processing equipment for production and raw material replenishment.
- Update CIP boards via the shop floor management system.
- Identify equipment malfunctions and assist with repairs.
- Communicate with process and tooling technicians for equipment assistance and root cause analysis.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Visually check workstations for low supplies and transport materials using material handling equipment.
- Notify supervisor or material handler when supplies need reordering.
- Identify raw materials required by reviewing the bill of materials and communicate shortages.
- Test and inspect products to ensure quality specifications are met.
- Report products that do not meet specifications and perform non-conforming product procedures.
- Isolate or rework items not meeting quality standards.
- Input accurate data into the quality control system.
- Identify raw materials that do not meet quality requirements.
- Comply with safety guidelines and report any work injuries or unsafe conditions.
- Perform various duties such as 6S activities, workshops, meetings, and cross-functional training as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 6 to 12 months related experience.
- Manufacturing experience and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to handle fast-paced, repetitive tasks.
