Job Title: Waterjet OperatorJob Description
The Waterjet Operator is responsible for effectively and efficiently operating a high-pressure water jet to process and produce high-quality products, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction throughout the company.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials and parts, prove programs, operate controls, set offsets, deburr, and inspect quality parts for conformance to requirements on a water jet.
- Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Ensure production rates are met or exceeded.
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine, within capabilities, controls, or control media as required to ensure the quality of productions. Report all machine malfunctions.
- Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness and perform basic preventative maintenance functions.
- Suggest and implement improvements.
- Communicate all production-related items to the next shift Waterjet Operator or shift supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Conform to the company’s culture of quality, service, and continuous improvement while taking personal responsibility for actions and treating fellow employees, customers, and vendors respectfully and ethically.
- Provide management with reports as needed.
- Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One or more years of experience in production/equipment operation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze, track, and maintain accountabilities.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience in production/equipment operation.
- One or more years of experience working in the metals industry.
