Job Description
Hours: 3:30pm-12:30am Monday-Friday (Overtime may be required)
We are searching for candidates with prior metal press machine operation experience for our 2nd shift role located in North Kansas City, MO. Press Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Read and understand work instructions, handle material to and from workstation, and get workstation and equipment ready for production and ensure the quality of the product before shipping
- Perform die changeovers and select correct materials to run
- Correct or seek support to fix any setup or tool problems preventing production of good parts
- Operate press to punch and form parts per specifications
- Adjust and tighten hold down bolts, dies, springs, and pins; lubricate material and parts as required
- Perform housekeeping activities daily as outlined by supervisor
- Complete all required and assigned paperwork
Press Operator Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, ascend/descend stairs, and climb throughout a normal shift
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with up to 20 pounds as the most frequent lift
- Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must have great attendance - make sure to return from breaks on time
- Must have good attention to detail and hand-to-eye coordination to distinguish defective items
- Previous experience in manufacturing and operating a press preferred
- Ability to read measuring devices and interpret blueprints and drawings
- All QPS employees - no cell phones allowed on warehouse floor (leave in locker or car)
