Distinguishing Features of Work
This is irrigation work assisting in conducting general irrigation repairs, installation of irrigation equipment, stocking supplies in work truck and some grounds keeping duties.

Examples of Work Performed
- Conducting irrigation systems testing.
- Install irrigation nozzles, valves, drains and pipe.
- Make repairs to irrigation systems.
- Removes snow from walks.
- Supervises lower-level part-time seasonal employees.
- Tests, installs, and repairs backflow prevention devices.
- Assist with prescribed burns.
- These examples ae not intended to be all-inclusive.
- Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements of Work
- Knowledge of the standard tools, equipment materials, methods and practices used in irrigation and grounds maintenance work.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- Working knowledge of the irrigation systems and irrigations controllers.
- Skills in the use of standard hand and power equipment used perform irrigation tasks.
- Ability to push and/or pull and operate standard irrigation equipment over rough terrains.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs. with the assistance of another person.
- Be able to secure a Class "A" CDL driver's license within six months of hire.
- Be able to secure a City of Wichita Backflow Prevention Installer/Tester Technicians Certificate within six months of hire.
