Overview / Job Summary:
The Faculty for the HVAC program at WSU Tech is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality education and training in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role includes creating curriculum content, providing hands-on training, assessing student performance, and promoting an inclusive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in HVAC technology and a commitment to student success.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Design and deliver instruction aligned to course competencies and current industry standards
- Create an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment
- Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance and grades
- Utilize instructional technology and the Learning Management System to enhance learning
- Collaborate with staff, faculty, and student support services to promote student success
- Engage with Industry Advocate Teams to ensure alignment with workforce needs
- Participate in program review, assessment activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Represent WSU Tech at recruitment and community engagement events
Education:
- Technical education or higher in HVAC or related field, preferred.
- EPA 608 certification required
Requirements, Knowledge & Skills Needed:
- Minimum of five (5) years of HVAC industry experience, required (any level)
- Prior teaching or training experience, not required.
- Practical experience in the HVAC industry, including hands-on troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students effectively.
- Ability to utilize technology and modern teaching methods to enhance student learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the learning environment.
