Job Description
A student assistant will carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor. Depending on the area the student assistant is employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or provide support throughout the campus in various forms.
Job Duties
• Facilitate one-on-one success conversations with online and adult learners and Shocker Comeback students to support goal setting, time management, and academic planning.
• Serve as a point of contact for Shocker Comeback students, helping them navigate campus resources and re-engage with their academic journey.
• Collaborate with campus partners to identify barriers to student success and assist in
developing strategies to address them.
• Assist in the creation and delivery of virtual workshops, webinars, and engagement opportunities tailored to the needs of adult and online learners.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and contribute to assessment and reporting
efforts.
• Support outreach efforts through email, phone, and virtual platforms to encourage persistence and connection.
• Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent. Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at Wichita State University.
Additional Requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in virtual settings.
• Demonstrated interest in working with student populations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with online learning platforms and student support services is a plus.

• Experience in coaching, mentoring, or advising roles.
