Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for the efficient operation, organization, and assignment of area by shift at the plant. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and executes activities that carry out production activities and maximize throughput.  

Responsibilities

  • Understands the Valence Surface Technologies Code of Conduct policy, leading by example
  • Organizes assigned area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders currently in process on a daily work basis
  • Effectively communicates with customer service regarding work that is in the area or coming to the area for processing
  • Maintains the shop in an orderly and well-kept manner
  • Operates within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines
  • Works closely with Production Management and supervisors on other shifts/departments to determine daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules
  • Maintains schedule and reassigns labor as work load changes
  • Knows what needs to be done on a daily basis to keep the work moving through the production process
  • Executes schedule with a sense of urgency, and with sincere concern for safety, quality, timeliness, and cost consciousness
  • Maintains and monitors appropriate documentation on all orders
  • Effectively supervises employees.
  • Gives adequate direction, counsels employees on performance issues/concerns, provides assistance and/or training where appropriate
  • Initiates disciplinary actions where necessary according to established procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations (including OSHA compliance).
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing production needs.
    • Proficient in using production management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
