Job Description

Summary/objective: The Director of Sales will provide strategic leadership, team development, performance enablement, operational integrations and process optimization to the Wholegoods department.

Essential functions:

Strategic Leadership

  • Work in alignment with the COO to set directions for the sales organization, while directly overseeing the Wholegoods Program Manager and Wholegoods Support Team to design programs and tools for Regional and Store execution.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Monitor and report on market share and competitive performance, providing insights and improvement plans.
  • Oversee the Inventory Manager to align ordering and allocation strategies with sales and inventory health.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture that strengthens key accounts and ensures consistent experience across stores.         

Team Development & Performance Enablement

  • Lead the Wholegoods Program Manager, and related roles to build capability, while enabling Regional and Store Managers to enforce performance and accountability.
  • Provide staffing analysis, role clarity, and structure recommendations across the sales team.
  • Direct the development of onboarding, training, and sales enablement programs that can be deployed in the field.
  • Establish coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback frameworks that Store leadership applies locally.
  • Support effective compensation and incentive strategies, ensuring accurate metrics and tools are available for accountability.                        

Operational Integration & Process Optimization

  • Standardize sales operations by managing the Wholegoods Team to deliver processes, reporting, and cross-functional alignment that support field execution.
  • Design and enforce a standardized, efficient sales process across all stores.
  • Oversee CRM, dashboards, and reporting systems to give actionable insights.
  • Track unit turns, ROAI, appraisals, and salesperson activity, ensuring timely communication of performance results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives (Marketing, Service, Parts) to support store-level execution.
