PURPOSE OF POSITION: To load and unload trucks. To move material in/out of warehouse as required. Drive trucks to transport donations and other goods as needed to stores, Contracts and home pickups. Works with dock helpers & warehouse personnel with disabilities and barriers to employment. To fulfill mission statement. Trains Truck Driver’s to deliver to most direct route in a safe and timely manner. Teaches all driver’s proper way to secure load.

                                                                                    

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direct supervision of the Transportation and Warehouse Supervisor.

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises when doing home pick-ups and in the absence of Transportation & Warehouse Supervisor.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with individuals who have disabilities and or barriers to employment and participate in the achievement of their goals.  Demonstrate a positive, role model.  Display commitment and involvement towards Goodwill's mission.

 

JOB PROFICIENCIES: Action Oriented, Customer Focus, Ethics and Trust, Oral Communications, Cooperation, Integrity, Initiative, Job Knowledge, Quality, Teamwork, Accuracy, Adaptability, Dependability, Credibility, Driving Skills, Product Knowledge, understands safety policies and procedures.

 

JOB COMPETENCIES: Drive trucks and move trailers.  Load and unload trucks as needed using powered or forklift and on pallet jack.  Maintain warehouse inventory.  Help with baler operations as needed.  Make scheduled runs in a timely manner.  Drive trucks to transport donations and other goods as needed to stores. Move materials in and out of the warehouse as needed. Deliver to contracts as needed. Stack materials as needed. Understand ISO requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Stack materials with forklift as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers using pallet jack or forklift.
  • Make scheduled runs in a timely manner. This includes special pickups, Contracts, store deliveries and trash disposal runs.
  • Take charge to assure warehouse is correctly ran in absence of supervisor.
  • Adhere to all DOT requirements for this position which requires a DVIR turned in daily.
  • Knowledgeable of layout of warehouses.
  • Maintains and cleans trucks daily, washes trucks monthly.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in supervising and training truck helpers and warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Assure that DVIR is completed daily.
  • Report any malfunctions in vehicles immediately.
  • Protect and maintain reputation of Goodwill through contact with all stakeholders to Goodwill.
  • Clean warehouse at the end of each work day.
  • Encourage the work skills and habits of the truck helpers and warehouse personnel with disabilities and barriers to employment.
  • Support mission statement and activities of other departments.
  • Move trash to compactor and damaged furniture to dump trailer as needed
  • Adhere to all safety policies and report violations.
  • Knowledgeable of Forklift and Truck Driver procedure.
  • Support the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment and other barriers to persons with disabilities and barriers to employment.
  • Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Be sure all loads are secured as not to move using load locks and straps.

  • Attendance and punctuality.
  • Quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Attitude and overall effectiveness of working relations with employees, peers, stakeholders and service providers.
  • The manner in which duties and responsibilities, essential functions and job competencies are performed.

  • Efficiency of scheduling, pick-ups & other runs.
  • Accuracy of record keeping.
  • Relationship with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Keeping warehouse organized.

 

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

  • Lift -- push/pull while standing - up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sometimes over 100 pounds.
  • Carry -- push/pull while moving - up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Sometimes 100 pounds.
