Position Summary & Responsibilities
Perform state licensure surveys in its assisted living, residential healthcare, home plus, adult day care and boarding care facilities across the state of Kansas. This position is responsible for conducting on-site surveys of these state licensed adult care homes to determine compliance with state licensure requirements.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducts onsite surveys of Licensed Only Adult Care Homes; observes and documents resident/patient services; interviews residents/patients, resident/patient significant others and facility staff and documents information; reviews medical records; and analyzes data to evaluate compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Completes required survey forms.
- Conducts regular revisits and special monitoring visits to assigned facilities employing survey techniques to determine compliance with state licensure and requirements.
- Using survey techniques, conducts complaint investigations to determine compliance with state and federal laws and regulations and makes additional recommendations to be used by professional licensing boards for employee license review when licensed and certified personnel are found to be operating negligently, or outside their scope of practice.
- Compiles and produces written reports based on data obtained during facility surveys. Conducts status conferences with facility and overall exit conferences at survey completion. Testifies at hearings or in courts of law on survey findings that result in legal proceedings with a facility or individual staff member.
- Provides on-the-job training to newly hired survey staff and participates in ongoing quality assurance activities.
