Job Description
Rose Hill, Kansas (population 4,353; $9.1 million budget; 20 FTE’s), is a family-friendly community, with continued growth opportunities. Located in the largest geographic county in Kansas, Rose Hill is in the Wichita metropolitan area, just minutes from the 93rd largest metro area in the United States. Rose Hill has award winning school district with facility improvements from a recent successful bond issue supported by the community. City has active housing developments and an expanding industrial base within the Rose Hill Industrial Park.
Rose Hill is governed by the Mayor/Council/Administrator form and is a city of the third class. The City Administrator is appointed by the Mayor with Council consent. The Administrator is responsible for the overall and day-to-day management of the City and is expected to assist in policy development.
The ideal candidate will have served successfully in local government in an administrative and supervisory capacity for at least three years. The Governing Body may consider a candidate of less experience, if that person presents strong education credentials, along with sufficient professional experience that would translate into a successful career as Rose Hill administrator.
