Job Description
Essential – • Provide comprehensive support for the operations of the SkillsUSA Kansas State Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO). • Coordinate and conduct all event activities of the SkillsUSA Kansas State organization. Develop and manage an annual schedule with comprehensive processes and materials for new chapter development, advisor training, district conferences, state contest, Board of Directors meetings, etc. • Ensure adequate volunteer staffing at events, manage the budget, track inventory/equipment, develop/update promotional materials, and maintain documentation of processes/procedures. • Follow SkillsUSA Kansas bylaws with guidance from the SkillsUSA Board of Directors. • Work with secondary and post-secondary students, faculty, staff, administrators, contest chairs and judges, industry employers, community organizations, state organizations (such as Kansas Department of Education, Kansas Board of Regents, and Technical Education Authority), and SkillsUSA Nationals to communicate information, collaborate, and establish partnerships. • Collaborate with HutchCC and the SkillsUSA Kansas Board of Directors on the needs and direction of the SkillsUSA Kansas state organization including program planning, development, implementation, feedback, and continual improvement. • Market SkillsUSA Kansas professionally to internal and external stakeholders (i.e.: membership drive, industry donors, contest chairs, etc.). Use technology to increase awareness and participation. • Order and maintain materials, awards, office supplies, and State Officer official attire. • Utilize the Conference Management System (CMSystem) adopted by the national SkillsUSA organization. • Develop and maintain reports, records, feedback satisfaction surveys, and other documentation to ensure timely and accurate data, and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and procedures. • Foster positive relationships and procedures to support organization professionalism and growth. • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position. Make travel and hotel reservations for multiple events with overnight stays. • Comply with HutchCC policies, practices, and procedures. Secondary – • Grow secondary/post-secondary participation and industry partnerships throughout the state. • Pursue professional development opportunities, as appropriate for the position. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department II Co-Chairs or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
