Job Description
Medical Records Support Staff- This position is responsible for the maintenance of both paper and electronic health records, as well as processing medical records’ requests through timely service in a fast-paced, high volume, customer-focused environment. Other responsibilities include support of our Staff while protecting patient’s confidentiality by adhering to company policy, State statutes and HIPAA regulations. Selected candidate should be proficient at utilizing office technology, highly detail -oriented, possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Hourly position: starting wage is $15.40/hour – $32,032.00/year.

TITLE OF POSITION: Support Staff – Medical Records
SUPERVISOR: Director of Quality Improvement and Risk Management
WORK SCHEDULE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple, concurrent deadlines
Demonstrated skills working with relevant computers programs required
Dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and compliance with agency’s liability carrier’s
requirements may be required depending on job assignment
Communicate positively and effectively with others
Basic proficiency in math
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain a current knowledge base of staff roles and functions,
policies and procedures, forms and their application and provide support for Four County Mental
Health Center’s programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintain patient records, both electronically and in paper form, to ensure availability
and accuracy.
2. Complete all requests for documents by staff members and assist staff in locating
documents.
3. Obtain external records at staff requests.
4. Sends timely responses to requests for patient records from third parties and ensures
valid releases are in the record.
5. Operates agency technology; copier, scanner, fax. Provide prompt email communication
with staff members.
6. Interact with internal and external customers utilizing a professional and positive customer service approach.
7. Follow general Medical Records’ procedures, regardless of location. Utilize team members as resources.
8. Exhibit and promote decisions and behavior consistent with the agency’s established
Vision, Mission, and Values.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Any deviations to the work schedule and all overtime must be approved in advance.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
