The Accounts Receivable/Credit Manager role is for the Kissner Milling Company subsidiary of Morton Salt and is charged with the effective credit evaluation and collections of customer accounts for Kissner Milling Company including: managing and establishing credit limits, collections of past due balances, customer servicing, posting of daily cash receipts and helping with dispute and collection of customer deductions. This position is responsible for contacting past due customers to secure payment and determine reason for delinquency. This position resolves routine billing inquiries and negotiates payment arrangements to cure delinquent accounts. This position reports to the Kissner Milling Company controller and will provide reporting related to credit, accounts receivable and projected cash receipts to management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and evaluation of customer credit applications and assignment of appropriate credit limits in accordance with the Company guidelines.
- Accurately record daily cash receipts received via a lock box, via EFT, credit card payments and checks received via mail.
- Must be able to research and resolve short pay issues.
- Update the accounting system with real-time collection notes following discussions with customers.
- Record manual entries to adjust off remaining balances and/or record other charges such as finance charges as directed by management.
- Review accounts receivable aging to ensure accounts are reconciled and that all payments have been applied correctly.
- Weekly and monthly management reporting and cash forecasting.
- Management of seasonal personnel.
- Excellent professional and positive communication skills to develop and maintain good business partnerships with our customers.
- Effective cross-function collaboration with key business partners – management, sales, customer service and finance.
- Ability to take charge of the credit management process and to work independently to generate positive results; be self-motivated and a quick learner and be able to make sound business decisions.
- Maintain long-term customer relationships ensuring future sales orders while also being a proactive catalyst for determining next steps in collecting on past due amounts.
- Periodic updates with Sales leadership, Corporate leadership and Sales team related to credit evaluation of new customers and collection issues for existing customers.
