About the jobWe are seeking a Senior Director, Platform to lead the technical direction of our core platform architecture, infrastructure strategy, and IT operations. This is a senior role with executive-level scope — ideal for a hands-on technologist with strategic vision, strong executional depth, and proven experience across Azure cloud architecture, SaaS delivery, healthcare compliance (HIPAA), and global operations.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term technology roadmap, driving scalable infrastructure, and ensuring platform resilience, security, and compliance to support our growing product portfolio.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve the cloud architecture strategy on Azure, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across the platform.
- Lead the design and governance of infrastructure and IT operations, including automation, monitoring, and business continuity.
- Act as platform owner for core SaaS delivery infrastructure, enabling rapid, reliable deployments across environments.
- Partner with product, security, and compliance teams to maintain and advance HIPAA and other regulatory alignment.
- Oversee platform tooling, environment strategy, access control, and DevOps practices.
- Serve as technical liaison to offshore engineering and infrastructure partners, ensuring quality and alignment to standards.
- Influence technology decisions at the executive level, contributing to overall company strategy from a platform perspective.
- Negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing terms to ensure value and alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization's digital assets, systems, and data.
- Develop and maintain a robust disaster recovery plan to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity in the event of disruptions or disasters. Conduct system outage analysis to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the acquisition, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT equipment, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Oversee help desk support for employee and infrastructure-related issues, including password resets, login issues, laptop problems, and IT questions.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years in progressive engineering or infrastructure roles, with at least 5 years in cloud architecture leadership (Azure preferred).
- Proven experience in SaaS product environments, ideally within regulated industries like healthcare.
- Deep understanding of HIPAA, data privacy, and security-by-design principles.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based IT infrastructure, systems, security, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC2).
- Hands-on experience designing and operating high-availability, secure, cloud-native platforms.
- Strong grasp of infrastructure automation (IaC), observability, CI/CD, and IT service management (ITSM).
- Comfortable working with and influencing offshore teams and global stakeholders.
- Background in disaster recovery, compliance reporting, and incident response planning.
- Customer service-oriented, with the ability to support a tiered ticketing support system.
- Demonstrated success in managing service level agreements (SLAs) and ensuring high service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Familiarity with EHR integrations, HL7, FHIR, and other healthcare interoperability standards
- Location within the Wichita area is preferred.
Education or Certifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Preferred)
