Job Description
The Admissions Specialist is responsible to the Director of Admissions for all functions associated with the Admissions Office. Some duties include:
A. Process online and paper applications for admission daily.
B. Pre-code and analyze online and paper applications for admission to maintain data integrity as mandated by the Kansas Board of Regents.
C. Perform data entry of prospective student information and applications for admission.
D. Responsible for the recruitment and admissions communication plan.
E. Responsible for all mailings generated by the recruitment and admissions modules, with knowledge of the processes surrounding the functions required to collect recruitment data.
F. Perform data entry and word processing utilizing Ellucian Banner and CRM Recruit, as well as Microsoft Office.
G. Coordinate the Admissions Office budget functions and purchasing.
A. Outstanding human relations and organizational skills.
B. Solid working knowledge of all office machines, including the personal computer, imaging equipment, and copy machine.
C. Must be competent in the operation of word processing, including document merging, spreadsheet, and database programs.
D. Must be competent in the operation of Ellucian Banner and CRM Recruit within the recruiting and admissions modules.
E. A strong knowledge of the institution and the capability of interpreting college policy in the areas of:
a. Application for admission procedures, financial aid, scholarships, housing, and enrollment.
b. Degree options offered.
F. Information concerning other campus sites and their contacts, as well as activity and athletic programs.
G. This position requires an individual that is self-motivated, self-operational, and whose professional behavior enhances the integrity and success in relaying Butler Community College to its constituents.
A. A minimum of two years secretarial experience, including organizing an office.
B. At least one year experience operating a word processor/data base, spreadsheet, and personal computer.
C. Knowledge in the admissions process is preferred but not required.
