Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Establish a relationship with the child and non-offending caregiver of children seen at the
CAC. Evaluate services that would enhance the quality of life for the child.
b. Provide support and information to parents of scheduled forensic interviews.
c. Remain apprised of all community services available to the child and non-offending caregivers.
d. Contact child/non-offending caregiver within two working days of the interview for follow-up. Maintain follow-up contact(s) offering emotional support, resource and service information, referrals to support family safety, share pertinent case information and monitor interactions between family and service providers to help the child and non-offending caregiver navigate the system.
e. Distribute OMS surveys to all families of children interviewed by the center and process returned forms. Data collected will be used to prepare multiple reports throughout the year.
f. When necessary, provide childcare for interviews with multiple children.
g. Attend all post-interview and scheduled case review sessions, being a voice for the child and non-offending caregiver.
h. Accompany child and non-offending caregiver to Newman Regional Health or other necessary medical institutions for a Forensic Nurse Exam, if needed.
i. Act as a liaison to the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) by informing the MDT of significant issues and changes related to the child’s wellbeing and family’s needs.
j. Prepare timely and accurate case notes of family advocacy interactions while maintain client confidentiality.
