Job Description
POSITION SUMMARYThe Controller provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Landmark National Bank’s accounting and finance functions. This position ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, supports regulatory compliance, manages balance sheet risk, and contributes to the organization’s strategic planning and execution. The Controller is responsible for leading a high-performing team committed to delivering the Landmark promise: "Everyone starts as a customer and leaves as a friend."
RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team Development- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop finance team members using established performance development tools.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence in customer and community engagement.
- Manage performance, including conducting evaluations, setting goals, and administering performance counseling when necessary.
- Oversee preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Manage the bank’s accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, tax calculations, and financial reconciliations.
- Facilitate internal and external audits, including annual financial statement and control audits, and ensure readiness for regulatory examinations.
- Ensure accurate and timely SEC and other regulatory filings, including earnings releases and annual/quarterly reports.
- Manage the bank’s balance sheet, capital, liquidity, and interest rate risk.
- Develop and implement financial models and strategic plans; present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for both the bank and holding company.
- Analyze financial data, monitor financial ratios, and assess performance against goals.
- Ensure full compliance with SEC, FDIC, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a key participant in investment portfolio management and risk mitigation efforts.
- Promote Landmark’s core values by participating in cultural and recognition events such as Huddles and Celebration/Hoopla activities.
- Support organizational initiatives and contribute positively to team morale and community impact.
