About the Position
Pond is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth in the medical device manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate brings both a strong industry network and a track record of success in process-driven sales within an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Management) firm. This individual will play a critical role in expanding our national presence by identifying and converting high-value opportunities with medical manufacturing clients.

This is a high-impact role for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You'll work closely with senior leadership, market directors, and technical teams to position Pond's full range of AEC capabilities to meet the unique regulatory and design challenges of medical device clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage existing relationships in the medical device manufacturing space to drive new project pursuits and client partnerships.
  • Lead the full business development lifecycle: prospecting, lead qualification, pursuit strategy, proposal development, and closing.
  • Maintain and report pipeline activity using CRM platforms (Salesforce, Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, HubSpot).
  • Collaborate with marketing, proposal teams, and technical subject matter experts to shape client-specific strategies and collateral.
  • Deliver client-facing presentations and build pursuit strategies tailored to regulated medical manufacturing environments.
  • Coordinate closely with project management and engineering teams to align client needs with technical delivery.
  • Travel as required for client meetings, internal alignment, and industry events.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of B2B sales experience in the AEC industry with focus on medical device manufacturing clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a book of business in highly regulated and compliant environments.
  • Strong understanding of how A/E/CM services support facility design, production processes, and validation requirements within regulated Life Science and Biotech environments.
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales tools (Salesforce, Deltek, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) and experience with complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel 30-50% as needed for client or internal interactions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience navigating long sales cycles and procurement processes typical of the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in the industry.
  • Knowledge of medical device markets, clean rooms, sterilization, warehouse and distribution networks.
  • Background in developing go-to-market strategies or launching new AEC service offerings in technical markets.
