Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Hays, Kansas | Crisis Intervention Center

Pay: $28.09 per hour (shift differentials available)

Job Type: Full-time; in-person

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts weekly. Daytime (7a-7p) or Overnight (7p-7a)

Start Date: Positions starting in October & November 2025

Key Responsibilities Include:

· Assisting with the admission process, including conducting basic physical and behavioral health assessments and documenting patient history and vitals

· Administering and monitoring psychiatric medications, including observing for side effects and adverse reactions

· Providing direct patient care, including helping with daily living tasks and crisis support

· Implementing suicide prevention protocols and other individualized safety plans

· Utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral health emergencies

· Maintaining detailed and timely documentation of all care provided and changes in patient condition

· Supporting the use of restraints and seclusion in accordance with state regulations when necessary for safety

· Assisting with discharge planning and care coordination in collaboration with case managers and the clinical team

· Participating in emergency response preparedness, including drills and simulations for fire, tornado, and patient elopement scenarios

· Attending required staff trainings on trauma-informed care, emergency procedures, psychopharmacology, and crisis intervention

Qualifications:

· Must be 21+ years old with current Kansas LPN licensure

· Minimum of one year in psychiatric, emergency, behavioral health, or inpatient mental health care preferred

· Solid understanding of crisis intervention, psychiatric medications, and trauma-informed care

· Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification

· Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and respond to emergencies

· Must pass required background checks (KBI and KDADS)

· TB testing, health screenings, and physician clearance required

· Completion of required orientation and ongoing training (including crisis response, de-escalation, and safety protocols)
