Job Description

The Clinic Triage Nurse assists the Clinic Providers, Nursing Staff and Medical Receptionists with patient calls, pharmacy calls, and outside provider’s calls.

1. Responds to phone calls and electronic requests for medication renewals.
2. Imports medical records to note scan import in the patients chart and routes the document for signature to the provider.
3. Adhocs outside labs and radiology:
4. Performs Prior Authorizations for medications.
5. Facilitates information requests from lab, x-ray, billing, medical records, and/or insurance companies regarding patient needs/health conditions
6. Assists with determining medical needs for walk-in patients
7. Assists with patient requests for sample medications, if approved by the Provider
8. Works closely with reception to answer time sensitive calls or questions.
9. Send messages to providers and provider nurses to facilitate questions from patients, pharmacy, and providers from other facilities.
10. Accepts critical lab values and reports to appropriate provider.
11. Assists with coordination of training for new clinical staff.
12. Assists with Nurse Visits such as allergy injections.
13. Assists CBSS with importing documenting through note scan import.
14. Facilitates patient assistance for underinsured or uninsured patients.
15. Performs other tasks as may be assigned
