Position Description

As a valuable member of our team as a Superintendent, you will be responsible for upholding Eby’s high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time project completion. Our superintendents are chosen for their ability to initiate high-quality planning, constantly teaching, implementing, and assuring a high degree of effectiveness in our work. They are charged with assuring that our customer expectations are met while maintaining a superior level of integrity and highly effective, fair treatment of every employee and customer representative.

 

Essential Functions:           

  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer, including administrative staff, workers, or clients
  • Direct and supervise craft employees and subcontractors
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed
  • Implement new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction site emergencies
  • Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction site(s)
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes or other regulations

Location:                Wichita, KS

Schedule:               Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Requirements

To succeed as a superintendent, an individual must be able to take direction and work with others as a team; follow company safety policies and participate in safety training programs; possess the ability to manage construction activities, develop operating strategies, plans and procedures, and effectively train employees on environmental awareness, conservation, or safety topics. A desirable superintendent will have knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in various projects. Must have 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent.
