Job Description
As an Inside Sales Advisor, you'll play a vital role in helping individuals and families across Kansas find the health coverage that fits their needs. Through a dynamic mix of inbound and outbound calls, you’ll educate and enroll members in our individual and Medicare plans, overcome objections, and highlight the value of our products. You’ll also support retention by offering plan alternatives and reinforcing the benefits of current coverage. This is a fast-paced, goal-driven role where each call is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact—while growing your career in a mission-driven organization.
The Inside Sales Advisor role is 32 hours per week. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required on a rotating schedule. This position is eligible to work hybrid in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or Missouri or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.

What you’ll do
-
Complete required training and continuing education.

Use company sales models to convert leads to sales by best fitting prospects with products through a call center with both inbound and outbound structure.

Sell under and over age 65 products such as Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and Part D.

Sell direct enrolled individual health insurance products.

Upsell dental, life, cancer, hospital indemnity, disability, and travel policies.

Overcome sales objections and position products against competition while balancing intensity and integrity.

Successfully execute cold calls for sales leads with the goal of conversion to enrollment.

Required to meet or exceed specific attainable sales goals monthly and annually.

Must meet or exceed department standards related to productivity measured through key performance indicators including outbound calls, call scoring and close ratio.

Proactively conserves policies in danger of cancellation.

Responsible for planning and completing daily activities associated with the sales process.

Accurately complete various detailed reports at prescribed intervals such as tracking production and competitive environment.

Responsible for communicating legislation at both federal and state levels, underwriting guidelines and rating practices that would impact either Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas or our clients.

Responsible for understanding benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, waiting periods, product limitations and exclusions for under and over age 65 products. Responsible for understanding, non-group and group lines of business and OBRA, COBRA AND MSP COBRA regulations.

Required to use the telephone 90% of the day and required to sit 90% of the day. In addition, required to key data for 50% of the day while managing multiple monitor screens.

Responsible for maintaining working knowledge of LTS/METS to ESM policies and procedures while minimizing MTM errors to meet or exceed company MTM standards, working in a timely manner.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
-
Articulate and well-spoken with strong communication, sound judgement, professionalism, and human relations skills are required.

Ability to meet sales and overall performance targets.

Able to obtain and maintain a license issued by the State of Kansas for Health, Accident and Life Insurance. Ability to obtain and maintain Part D/Medicare Advantage and FFM certification annually.

Ability to handle fast-paced telephone duties, emphasis is extremely heavy the last 10 days of the month.

Must be able to make rapid decisions 75% of the average workday and be able to update a computer and make the required sale presentation at the same time.

Working knowledge of CSI, LTS, METS and other internal operating systems is preferred.

Working knowledge of over and under age 65 individual product lines, contracts and related operating policies and rating practices of the company and its subsidiaries as they interact with the individual product line is preferred.

Understanding of Kansas Insurance Department, Centres for Medicaid and Medicare, and the Affordable Care Act advertising and marketing guidelines is preferred.
What you need

High school diploma or equivalent
-
At least one year of internal experience in individual or group sales experience, sales coaching, or customer service, or two years' previous sales or customer service experience with another company in a performance-based competitive sales environment.

Experience working in inbound sales environment is preferred.

State of Kansas for Health, Accident and Life Insurance is preferred.
Physical Requirements

The environment is very fast paced with very heavy telephone work (90%)
