Job Description
A Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a warehouse and monitoring the productivity of its staff. Warehouse Supervisors often work in fast-paced environments where priorities can shift quickly, so the ability to multitask and delegate effectively is essential for this role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overseeing inventory levels, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and coordinating inventory checks and cycles
- Maintaining accurate records of inventory, shipments, and other relevant data, and preparing reports as needed
- Assigning workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Associates
- Communicating with customers to answer shipping and receiving inquiries and troubleshoot issues
- Monitoring inventory and shipment transactions for accuracy
- Ensuring inventory and storage areas are clean and well-maintained
- Directing and supervising warehouse team members, including training, performance evaluations, and task assignments
- Coordinating the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring proper storage and handling, and overseeing the timely dispatch of outgoing shipments
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment
- Monitoring Warehouse Associates to ensure safety procedures are followed when operating forklifts and other equipment
