About This Role
The School of Human Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is seeking an Office Specialist II to join their team at the Center for Child Development (CCD). This position will provide administrative and clerical support for the day-to-day operations of the CCD. With a focus on professionalism and client satisfaction, the Office Specialist II will be responsible for overseeing the reception area, providing customer service to current and prospective clients, and overseeing staff schedules to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. This position will report to the Center Director.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Answer and route phone calls, providing general information to current and prospective clients as requested
- Create newsletters and communication templates, disseminating information as directed
- Update marketing materials, social media, and website as directed
- Support the needs of administration and management teams through providing file management and clerical support
- Enter and manipulate data in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Ensure staff schedules are in adherence with CCD procedures and KDHE staffing requirements
- Communicate with administrators and teachers to ensure classrooms are appropriately staffed and teachers receive necessary breaks, planning periods, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
The Center for Child Development (CCD) serves as the clinical training site for students enrolled in the state-approved and nationally accredited undergraduate preservice teacher education program in early childhood education; provides quality childcare to K-State and the larger campus community; is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); is licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE); and meets high quality food service standards of the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a relevant field
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and ProCare software systems
- Experience with licensed childcare programs
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass a name-based and fingerprint background check, KDHE health assessment, and TB Test
Sponsorship eligibility:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
