Position: Survey Office TechnicianLocation: Lenexa (Southlake Office)
Survey Office Technician
GBA•s Survey Group is currently seeking someone with exposure to drafting software's and who has a desire to contribute to all areas of surveying. The type of surveys we produce range from DOT and Municipality corridor design base maps, topography for storm and sanitary design, energy corridor surveys, easement surveys for all types of design projects, boundary, ALTA/NSPS Surveys and UAV surveys. We offer a variety of work and learning experiences from project to project. Responsibilities:
- Utilize MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D on engineering design, topographic, boundary, ALTA/NSPS, and easement surveys.
- Work closely with survey crew members and office staff to draft survey data
- Work with group managers to meet schedule deadlines
- Manipulate Point Cloud data for the extraction of survey features used in drafting
- Create existing surface in CAD to depict an accurate representation of field conditions
- Communicate with internal staff effectively to gather all information needed for the drafting of survey related data
- Other duties as assigned
- Associate•s Degree AND 5+ years of experience OR a combination of education and experience
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Microstation and AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Survey field experience a plus
