Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
In addition to preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing requirements for a variety of manufactured parts and assemblies, this position is responsible for managing all outsourced processes ensuring that the outside processing operations align with production schedules, inventory, quality standards, and cost objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Analyze material and processing requirements based on design specifications and quantities needed for production.
- Create cost estimates for labor, materials, outside processing, and production lead times based on customer blueprints and specification.
- Monitor and follow up on quote statuses.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost estimation processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Manage, select and negotiate with vendors.
- Communicate with customers on proposals, quotes, and contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
