Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Packaging Planner is responsible for supporting operations by owning the packaging needs of the plant and ensuring that those needs are met consistently. This individual is expected to work closely with the Purchasing Packaging Coordinator and warehouse team to follow all processes using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate “Creekstone Proud” culture though attitude and actions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Unload packaging materials (corrugate, bags, film, labels) daily and put away in designated areas
- Assist in inventory counts weekly and enter such data on inventory spreadsheets
- Assist in placing orders for materials below minimum inventory levels from approved suppliers
- Resolve all packaging issues with assistance from the coordinator with the appropriate vendor
- Create part numbers and stocking locations for new packaging materials
- Unload trailers with electric/ propane forklifts and pallet jacks to support operation’s packaging requirements
- Record delivered goods in the receiving verification log
- Assist to work with accounts payable to resolve any invoice issues
- Ensure stocking areas are replenished daily (bags, boxes, film, etc.)
- Daily housekeeping of packaging storage and unloading areas
- Inform Coordinator and Purchasing Manager of any current or potential issues
- Assist with the annual cycle count
- Assist Warehouse Receiving Operator with receiving functions
- Research opportunities to reduce costs on existing materials
- All other duties that support the Warehouse as assigned by Purchasing Manager
