Job Description Summary:
This management position will work directly for Projects Division Assistant Director of Construction. They will assist the construction team in a variety of capacities and will manage a crew of multi-discipline craftsmen. Striving to complete projects on budget, on time, and in a professional manner.

Job duties:
- Directs and coordinates work of construction personal in all areas of Interior/Exterior renovation and new construction work. Interprets drawings.
- Coordinates work activities between various trades, contractors, and KUMC departments to create optimum flow for work.
- Evaluates and monitors work constantly for compliance with construction documents.
- Keeps daily logs on projects. Responsible for completing jobs on time and on budget.
- Enters daily time into time management software (Workday).
- Keeps operations manager up-to-date of job progress identifying potential problems or difficulties.
- Assists Assistant Director of Construction in maintaining current and future schedules for new tasks and/or jobs.
- Evaluates job performance of each crew member.
- Receives and evaluates received project materials to avoid delays due to damaged materials or incorrect quantities.
- Manage and coordinate multiple activities on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintains inventory of stock materials.
- Orders materials for projects.
- Order tools as necessary for construction work.
- Project procurement including but not limited to take offs and material estimation.
- Tracking and submitting workorder cost into billing system.
- Training of construction personal.
- Assist with estimating material and labor for projects and work orders.

Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in construction sciences. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Experience used to substitute education is in addition to any required work experience.
Work Experience:
- Experience with construction methods, techniques and materials.
- Experience building codes, standards and regulations governing construction.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in construction job site administration.
- Bluebeam experience.
- Microsoft Project experience.
- Microsoft Outlook experience.
- Understanding Health Care Infection Control Procedures during construction.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
